  Dear Dr.Gaudet                                                                                                                                              I apologize that this note is typed, but I wanted to spare you the challenge of reading my handwriting. I want you to know how much I appreciate your willingness to drive to Exeter on October 20, to suture the cut above my right eye. As I am sure you realize, the emergency room experience can be especially stressful; yet, your sympathy and reassurance was a real relief to someone who was concerned about the prospect of taking the PSAT in monovision. Thanks to you, I didn't have to take the PSAT with an eye patch; in fact, the sutures have been removed, and the cut is barely visible. Most of my classmates never even realized that I had been injured. As we discussed, I will make it my personal policy to avoid squash court doors for awhile.
